Saturday, January 18, 2020. Agribusiness Master’s Degree Study Program, University of Medan Area held Community Service activities located in Komp. Perum Griya Martubung Kelurahan Besar, Medan Labuhan District with the title “Training on Utilization of Eco Enzym and Making Organic Waste Briquette in Maintaining a Sustainable Environment”.
This activity was opened directly by the Greater Laburan Sub-District Head, Mr. T. Roby Chairi, S.IP, M.Sc. With this kind of training, it can provide new benefits to the people of Kelurahan Besar in particular.
The event was attended by the Director of the Postgraduate Prof. Dr. Ir. Retna Astuti Kuswardani, MS, Head of MA MA Prof. Ir. Yusniar Lubis, MMA and Prof. Dr. Drs. Syaifuddin, MMA as well as 22 Agribusiness Masters students. 25 participants from the Farmer Group, 10 PKK mothers, 23 heads of the environment and the surrounding community attended the training.
Eco Enzym training is training to make multifunctional liquids produced from organic waste or kitchen waste. the fermentation process is very easy to use ingredients from brown sugar / molasses, water and organic waste. And from the fermentation of Eco Enzym produces O3 gas or ozone, reducing CO2 and global warming.
The speakers at this training are Mr. Batara Surya Yusuf who brought material about Eco Enzym and Mrs. Rena who brought material for making Trash Briquettes. From this training it is expected that the community can utilize organic waste as raw material to make Eco Enzym and Trash Briquettes which are very useful as a solution to overcome environmental problems.
